Growing incidents of crime last year prompted police to meet with nightclub owners, Police Commissioner Derek Byrne revealed at the annual RCIPS Crime and Traffic Statistics Report press conference on Wednesday, 30 March.

Two nineteen-year-olds are in police custody after being arrested in relation to a stabbing incident, which took place at The Strand, West Bay Road on Saturday morning.

Three men were injured, one critically, Saturday night after the car they were in went off the road into the bush and later burst into flames. The crash happened behind the Strand shopping center along the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, just south of the Island Heritage roundabout. 

Although Halloween is officially recognized on the date of Oct. 31 every year, most parties and celebrations are usually scheduled on the closest weekend so ghouls and ghosts can recuperate before Monday rolls around – the scariest day of the week.
