WORC warns PR holders to submit annual declaration forms or face possible revocation of their permanent residency.

Some members of the public were turned away from the Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman (WORC) Elgin Avenue office on Friday.

Government stated on Friday that legislative changes to facilitate the transition of immigration-related powers to the Workforce Opportunities Residency Cayman, known as WORC, and Customs and Border Control, will not take effect on Jan. 1 as previously announced.

Government has released an Immigration (Transition) Bill, 2018, which would effectively repeal the current Immigration Law (2015 Revision) and create a new Workforce Opportunities Residency Cayman agency.

Bills to establish a new workforce development agency, to create new concessions for first time Caymanian home buyers, and to increase penalties for illegal gambling are among those scheduled for debate at the next session of the Legislative Assembly.
