Less than one week after a visitor died after snorkelling off Seven Mile Beach, another visitor died after swimming at Cemetery Beach.
Emergency services reported to the beach Sunday morning, 5 May, after a 72-year-old woman from the United States experienced difficulty while snorkelling with a family member, according to a Royal Cayman Islands Police Service press release issued Wednesday.
Fire officers administered CPR on the scene after members of the public helped bring her to shore and performed CPR. She was transported to Cayman Islands Hospital, where an attending doctor pronounced her dead.
Police do not suspect foul play but continue to investigate the incident.
