The Department of Environmental Health has received a CMI Trashmaster 3-90E landfill compactor.
Purchased for US$600, 0000 from the company Terex in the US, the machines will be used at the Government landfill.
On Wednesday the machine, which came in two parts to be assembled, was off loaded on the dock.
According to the Department of Vehicles and Equipment Services Director Dale Dacres, the department has brought down with the machine Bob Webb from Terex to assemble and commission the unit.
‘In addition to that Mr. Webb will provide the necessary operational and maintenance training for the personnel involved in the utilisation of the unit.
‘It is expected that the machine will be in operation by next week,’ he said.
