The Caribbean Association of Indigenous Banks recently announced that Cayman National Bank was elected to the 2004/2006 Executive Committee of CAIB.
The election was held at the Annual General Meeting of CAIB on November 15, 2004 at the Sandals Grande, Beach Resort & Spa, Pigeon Island, St Lucia. CNB will be represented by its President, Mr. Ormond Williams, states a CNB press release
The Caribbean Association of Indigenous Banks Inc. is a community of locally incorporated / owned banks and other financial institutions in the Caribbean / CARICOM Region, which provides an opportunity for discussion on issues impacting on the bank/financial services community as well as for the sharing of experiences and networking.
The Association was formed in 1974 following a decision by the 8th Meeting of the Heads of Government Conference in 1973 and the Inaugural Meeting of the Standing Committee of Ministers responsible for Finance.
The Association comprises 41 member banks / financial institutions and three honorary members, namely the Caribbean Development Bank, CARICOM and the Caribbean Center for Monetary Studies. The total asset base of members is in excess of US$17 billion. The CAIB Secretariat is located in St Lucia.
