After a Drugs Task Force operation on Friday, 8 April at 9.05pm a vehicle was stopped and three males were arrested after a short chase. Police subsequently searched a nearby address where a further eight arrests were made. All the suspects are Jamaican and Caymanian males arrested for an array of drugs related offences including possession of ganja and cocaine with the intent to supply, cultivation and consuming ganja. Investigations continue.
On Saturday, 10 April at 2.12pm a 22-year-old Windsor Park Caymanian male fell 20 feet from the roof of a business premise in downtown George Town.
Paramedics transported him to George Town Hospital where he subsequently died. The police criminal investigation department is investigating the circumstances of the fatal accident.
On Sunday, 10 April at 2.26pm a serious head-on motor vehicle accident occurred when a speeding vehicle lost control in North West Point Road. Three persons were injured with one driver suffering serious head, face and spinal injuries. The male driver is currently unconscious in George Town Hospital’s critical care unit. Police are asking witnesses to contact investigating officer PC 169 Dougie Melville on 244-3036.
A one-vehicle accident occurred at 2.54am Monday, 11 April, in the vicinity of Savannah Meadows after the vehicle left the road and collided with a palm tree. The 34-year-old female driver was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
