The Agape Family Worship Centre in Grand Cayman celebrated its 50th anniversary Friday night with a banquet.
The Golden Jubilee was marked slightly later than anticipated as Hurricane Ivan blew away earlier plans in September.
The party was attended by more than 430 people, who enjoyed a lavish dinner in the beautifully decorated Sanctuary at the church.
Governor Bruce Dinwiddy and his wife Emma were special guests at the top table along with Pastor Al Ebanks and his wife Kathy.
They were joined by Olga Adam, founding mother of the Agape Centre, Gerry McTaggart and family, founding members of the church, and Peter and Janet Leggatt, elders of the church.
Speakers for the evening were Paster Al Ebanks, the Governor and Rev. Bob Thompson, while Anthony Eden brought greetings.
The Agape Family Worship Centre was founded on 8 September 1954 by Tom and Olga Adam.
