Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow checked on the status of the six post offices located on the Sister Islands during a recent two-day visit.
‘My focus for the last seven months has been the Grand Cayman post offices and matters related to Hurricane Ivan, so my senior managers and I welcomed the opportunity to touch base with Sister Islands staff and see what problems and issues they were having, Commenting on the Ms Glasgow said in a press release.
Also on the official visit were Deputy Postmaster General, Operations Anthony Williams, Deputy Postmaster General, Finance and Human Resources Ann James, new Human Resources Manager Melissa Martinez-Ebanks and new Mails Manager Verdun Terry. The group visited the Little Cayman Post Office and the five post offices in Cayman Brac.
The group met with the new District Manager, Franscene Conolly on the Brac. As District Manager for the Sister Islands, Mrs. Conolly oversees all six post offices. Her mid-September appointment followed the retirement of Verna Banks.
Also on the Brac, Ms Glasgow met with new District Manager Lelia Hurlstone at the Stake Bay Post Office, which is located in the busy District Administration Building. Further up the island at the Spot Bay Post Office, the group met District Manager Shindi Bee-Put, another recent addition to staff.
Amongst other issues, Ms Glasgow and her Sister Islands’ staff discussed plans to expand customer services at the district offices on both islands, the release said.
She also reviewed with staff the proper procedures for handling postal ballots for the 11 May General Elections.
