Camana Bay open house draws hundreds

The open house for the new Camana Bay development attracted more than 200 contractors, vendors, suppliers and construction workers Wednesday.

Those attending the open house were able to view various project drawings, meet members of the development team and register their interest to provide products or services for the project.

‘It was an excellent turn-out,’ said Cameron Graham, vice president construction for Dart Realty. ‘It was better than I had expected.’

Mr. Graham said a flyer about the open house had been sent to every contractor and tradesperson who had registered with the Planning Department after Hurricane Ivan.

‘I think the open house was very well received,’ he said. ‘There were actually more people representing businesses than individuals looking for work.’

‘It certainly is an opportunity for us,’ she said.

Ted Dauch, a civil engineer who just recently arrived on the island was impressed by Camana Bay.

‘It’s a pretty big project,’ he said, adding that he was hoping to get some work there.
