Bodden Town to get ‘extreme makeover’

A free extreme makeover for the district of Bodden Town is in the works.

During the entire month of July, the BT District Beautification and Parks committee, operating with the Cayman Islands Recovery Operations, is staging the massive clean-up event.

During the first week.,4-9 July, the group will be picking up garbage from Spotts Newlands to Lower Valley. From 11-16 July, Lower Valley to Pedro; 18-23 July, Pedro to Pease Bay; and from Pease Bay to Breakers, 25-30 July.

The group currently is out and about scouting the neighbourhoods for hurricane debris.

‘We are going to give Bodden Town a fresh look, one that everyone in the community will be proud of,’ said committee member Heather Bodden.

‘In the beautification process we are encouraging residents to take care of their yards, garden and properties.’

Residents can place whatever hurricane debris they want removed in their front yard and it will be picked up by the group. Organisers said no objects too big or too small will be missed in this dragnet.

For more information, residents can contact field supervisor Telford Miller at 926-0251 or committee members Heather Bodden on 916-3574 and Ruth Williams 916-1229.
