Following its recent agreement to support the National Recovery Fund to the tune of US$250,000 over the next two years, Deloitte has presented the first payment of US$10,000 to the Fund.
Deloitte’s pledge to the Fund is a joint effort of its partners and employees and the firm is the first to sign on to the National Recovery Fund’s pledge campaign – an effort through which employees contribute to the rebuilding process, with matching funds from employers.
‘Deloitte is pleased to continue to support Cayman’s rebuilding and the efforts of the National Recovery Fund,’ said Chris Carpenter, the firm’s Marketing Manager. ‘We have subscribed to the pledge campaign because both our staff and partners are committed to helping the recovery process now and for the longer term,’ he added.
Executive Director of the National Recovery Fund, Dr. Mark Laskin noted that the monthly contribution represents a major boost to the Fund’s efforts to raise money and comes at a time when the Fund is stepping up efforts to provide housing assistance, especially during the hurricane season.
Deloitte’s monthly contribution will go toward one household or one project per month and staff will be provided with reports from the Fund. Projects may involve cultural and educational assistance, in addition to the Fund’s housing assistance programme.
