A 1-0 victory in the final game against Scholars saw East End United FC become champions in the under-23 youth rally.
‘I think that East End Football Club has gradually improved step by step in the fundamentals of football,’ said community football instructor – East End coach Thiago Cunha.
‘I would like to extend a warm thank you to the voluntary coaches Anthony Frederick, Syd Parsons and Al McLean for their invaluable help with the East End football programme and to all the under-23 football players for their dedication and discipline in both competition and practice games,’ he said.
‘I would like to draw attention to the fact that nine of the club team members played in the senior league. This championship was a win for the entire community of East End,’ he added.
‘The under-23 youth rally was very important to the young players and the children of East End. I greatly appreciated being a part of this team and winning the rally was a great feeling,’ said Vasco de Gama exchange player Diego Brandao.
‘The rally was very important to the development of the sport within the islands,’ added under-23 East End Football Club captain Marvin Grant.
