On Sunday, 28 August at 1.27am a 39-year-old man was arrested on North Sound Road in the vicinity of Caymanian Village on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was charged with the offence at George Town Police Station and will appear in court at a later date.
Also Sunday at 12.10am an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was arrested in the vicinity of the Butterfly Farm, George Town. The Criminal Investigation Department at George Town Police Station is investigating.
At the same time a 20-year-old male was arrested in the vicinity of the Butterfly Farm for disorderly conduct and obstructing police. The Criminal Investigation Department at George Town Police Station is dealing with the investigation.
On Monday at 3.16am a 17-year-old man was arrested in North Sound Estates by uniformed officers from the George Town Police Station on suspicion of defilement of a girl under 16 years old, suspicion of consumption, and possession of a vegetable matter resembling ganja and criminal trespass.
The Family Support Unit will be dealing with the investigation.
On Sunday 12.51am police, paramedics and fire control attended a one-vehicle accident in the vicinity of Pedro, Bodden Town.
The male driver of the Rover was taken The Cayman Islands Hospital by paramedics for an injury to his hand. Uniformed officers are dealing with the incident
Boat in distress
On Monday at 2.29am the 911 Emergency Communication Centre received a call from the Port Authority that a vessel had run out of gasoline 12 miles north west of George Town Harbour and was in need of assistance.
HMS Cumberland, which was four miles from the vessel and due to dock in George Town at 8am Monday assisted the one-man on board the vessel with 50 litres of gasoline.
HMS Cumberland carried out a thorough search of the vessel for firearms and drugs and verified the owners identity.
The male on board the vessel resides in the Cayman Islands. Permission was given by a Chief Inspector from the RCIP for the vessel to proceed on its own to George Town Harbour.
Three persons are in custody following an incident that is alleged to have taken place in West Bay Thursday, 25 August.
An 18-year-old female is in custody on suspicion of abduction. She was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department at West Bay Friday.
A 22-year-old male was also arrested in West Bay Friday 11.10pm on suspicion of rape.
A 21-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of rape later Friday in connection with the same incident. The Criminal Investigation Department at West Bay is investigating.
On Friday at 7.20pm police arrested a 56-year-old male on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol following observation on Shamrock Road, George Town.
He was later charged with the offence at George Town Police Station and will appear in court at a later date.
Following a call to the 911 Emergency Communication Centre police arrested a 37-year-old female Friday at 10pm on suspicion of driving under the influence following a motor vehicle accident on West Bay Road. She was later charged with the offence at George Town Police Station and will appear in court at a later date.
On Saturday at 7.25pm police arrested a 51-year-old man on Bodden Town Road on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was later charged with the offence and will appear in court at a later date.
A 22-year-old male is in custody on suspicion of threatening violence following a report made to police. He was arrested at 7.45pm Saturday. The matter is under investigation.
A 22-year-old female was arrested Saturday at 3.45pm in the vicinity of Hurley’s Grand Harbour on suspicion of obtaining property by deception and theft. The matter is under investigation by the Financial Crimes Unit.

A 39-year-old male was arrested at 3.15pm at Her Majesty’s Prison Northward Saturday on suspicion of possession of a vegetable matter resembling ganja and possession of ganja with intent to supply. The Drugs Task Force is investigating.
A 22-year-old man was arrested Saturday at 9.35am following an incident that occurred earlier that evening 3.45am.
The man hit a police vehicle whilst reversing at high speed and fled the scene on foot.
One officer in the vehicle sustained minor injuries and attended the Cayman Islands Hospital for treatment. The man has been charged with dangerous driving and leaving the scene of an accident. Uniformed officers from the George Town Police Station are dealing with the incident.
