Quincy in the raw

On Friday, 9 September, Kings Sports Centre will come alive with well-liked comic actor Quincy Brown.

The production, A Laugh at Life in Cayman, will feature Quincy in the raw taking a comical look at himself, people and life in Cayman.

Then this is the place to be, for Quincy promises to tell all about himself and the life of others, which he says you will want to know.

He hits on politics and politicians, sociology, expats, gas prices, residents, religion, taboo things, people, Hurricane Ivan, Quincy, and sex so please do not take the children.

This show is rated heavy stuff, and is not recommended for children. It is an adult show. Only those 18 years and older will be admitted.

Quincy says although the show is a little explicit at times it about what is topical in Cayman now, making fun of it, and laughing at ourselves.

The show, which lasts two and a half hours with Quincy taking the stage for one, will also feature acts from persons such as Fritz McPherson, Rita Estevanovich and poets. There will also be local artists displaying their work.

The show starts at 7pm. Tickets are $15 and available at the door.

Performing since he was a 12-year-old, Quincy is a bona-fide fifth generation Caymanian with his navel string buried in three places, Little Cayman, Watering Place Cayman Brac, and George Town, Grand Cayman.

Born in Cayman Brac, Quincy graduated from Cayman Brac High School, attended the University of The West Indies, Mona Campus in Jamaica where he studied broadcasting and received a journalism degree in radio broadcasting,

He returned to the Cayman Islands and attended ICCI and majored in broadcast management.

He then went to England to study theatre and poetry, and then Trinidad and Tobago where he did theatre management and storytelling workshops.

He is also the founding member of Back Yard Caboose Theatre Company.

Although a member of Back Yard Caboose, Quincy said this show is not a Back Yard Caboose production and has nothing to do with that company.

Back Yard Caboose produces clean family filled productions for the whole community, which has a lot of things planned in the near future.
