Ivan book for recovery

With the anniversary of Hurricane fast approaching yet another Ivan book has hit the bookstands. Proceeds from Ivan: The Full Story will be donated to the National Recovery Fund.

The 240-page book written by Dominic Tonner, deputy editor of the Cayman Observer differs from previous Ivan-related publications, according to its publicists, because of its comprehensive focus, serving as an unofficial documented history of the event. The tome attempts to capture all aspects of the hurricane ranging from heroic actions, politics, media controversies, and ultimately a nation brought together by a defiant Caymanian spirit, the release continues.

The book’s publisher, Paul Byles, said that 25% of all profits from the book will be donated to the Recovery Fund and hopes that on the anniversary of the event, efforts like the Cayman 27’s upcoming telethon get as much support from the public as possible.

‘It is a critical part of the recovery process that individuals as well as corporate citizens who are in a position to assist provide as much support as possible when a disaster, especially of the magnitude of Ivan, occurs,’ he said.

Ivan: The Full Story can be purchased directly online at www.ivanstory.ky. The book is also on sale at Hobbies and Books stores.
