More than 400 set to attend captive forum

The upcoming Cayman Captive Forum is poised to be another huge success, already attracting more than 400 delegates.

The event runs 6-8 December at the Westin Casuarina Resort.

‘We do have an extremely topical keynote speaker,’ Seamus Tivnan, Chairman of the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC), said in a press release.

Steve Drews, meteorologist and associate vice president with Aon Impact Forecasting, will present Hurricane Hunting – The Science behind the Storm.

‘With the tropical activity witnessed in 2005 this could be a standing room only session,’ said Mr. Tivnan.

The forum will give captive owners an opportunity to meet with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and to arrange a Board of Directors meeting, the release said.

Captive owners and service providers will also have the opportunity to take advantage of a number of educational opportunities.

As well, the event provides a chance for attendees to network at breakfast, lunch and evening receptions.

Mr. Tivnan thanked sponsors for supporting the event, including the local partners of KPMG – the main sponsor of the event – and the Cayman Islands Government for hosting a reception for all of the forum delegates at Government House.

More than 30 exhibitors will be on hand at the forum including newcomer, Greenlight Reinsurance Ltd. Greenlight Re is the first Cayman-based global property and casualty reinsurance company and has worldwide reach.

On line registration closes today, 30 November. Registration after this date should be faxed to (345) 943-2364.
