Cayman calendars now on sale

The 2006 Cayman calendars featuring photography by David Wolfe are now available island-wide.

The project will help raise funds for the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman.

‘We have teamed up with Cayman’s top retailers for local distribution. Everyone is impressed with the quality and very optimistic that the 2006 calendars will be a big seller this year,’ project coordinator Melissa Wolfe said in a press release.

The 12-month calendar features photographs that cover various districts around Grand Cayman and include pictures of Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.

In addition to raising money for the Rotary Club, another goal is to promote the Cayman Islands in a positive way, the release said. All retail calendars sport the Department of Tourism logo and website addresses to direct people to the websites. Corporate supporters have plans to distribute their calendars to overseas companies as client gifts, again showcasing the beauty of the Cayman Islands, the release said.

For posting overseas, the calendars fit into a standard 9×12 envelope for mailing. It costs about CI$4 to mail a calendar to the US or Canada.

Calendars can be purchased at Hobbies and Books, the Piccadilly Bookshop; Books by the Bay at Grand Harbour’ all Foster’s Food Fair locations; Kirk Supermarket; Cayman Camera; Celebrations; Hot Tropics; Tropical Trader; Pirate’s Grotto; Red Sail Sports; Blue Iguana Souvenir Outlet; and Picture This.

Calendars can also be purchased from members of the Rotary Sunrise Club. Stores interested in retailing the 2006 calendar are asked to call Melissa Wolfe at 916-8335 or email [email protected]
