One Boston flight cut

Cayman Airways reinstated twice weekly seasonal service between Grand Cayman and Boston on Friday, 18 November.

During review of the advanced bookings, the decision was made a month ahead to cease the sale of the midweek Wednesday flight to/from Boston (KX 092 and KX 093) between 11 January 11 and 8 February.

‘The demand for the Wednesday flight simply did not materialize for the early winter five week period and there was no real prospect to stimulate enough close-in booking activity to achieve marginal passenger loads.’ said Michael Adam, CEO and president of Cayman Airways.

‘In consultation with our key wholesalers, we were advised that they do not foresee the demand for the Wednesday service picking up until February 11.’

The route performed well from 18 November through the holidays. The advanced bookings for mid-February through Easter are already looking very good and there are no plans for further amendments to the Cayman/Boston scheduled service that will continue through 19 April. Cayman Airways will be reinstating the seasonal service in the coming 06/07 winter season.

All passengers who had reservations to travel on any of the flights affected during this period were redirected on other flights to ensure that they travelled on their desired dates.

Travel between Grand Cayman and Boston is available for as low as $399. For travel from Cayman Brac or Little Cayman add only $50.

Price is round-trip airfare only (does not include applicable taxes and surcharges). Some rules and restrictions apply. More information is available upon reservation and ticketing.
