Collections improve at HSA

Despite difficulties, revenue collection for the Health Services Authority has improved, Health Minister Anthony Eden told the Legislative Assembly.

‘If you compare payment received from commercial health insurance companies and self pay for the period July 2004 to February 2005 with the period July 2005 to February 2006 there has been a total increase of approximately 47 per cent in collections,’ he said on Thursday.

‘This reflects an increase of 54 per cent from insurance companies and 38 per cent from self pay,’ he added.

Answering a question in the House, Mr. Eden said the sources of revenue were directly from the Ministry, from the Cayman Islands National Insurance Company and thirdly, from commercial health insurance companies and self pay.
