Detectives have launched an investigation following the death of a 29-year-old man on Thursday.
He was Dominique Henry Mclaughlin of East End.
The 911 Emergency Communications Centre received a call at 2.24pm from a man reporting an incident in the vicinity of the Blow Holes.
It appeared Mr. Mclaughlin had been in the area picking whelks with a friend when he got into difficulty whilst in the water.
His companion ran for assistance at a nearby house and Emergency Services were called.
Police and medics attended the scene but he was pronounced dead at the Cayman Islands Hospital.
