Police in West Bay arrested three men and recovered approximately 12 pounds of ganja last week as the district implemented a number of initiatives to stamp out crime in the area.
The trio were arrested on suspicion of possession of ganja with intent to supply, possession of ganja and consumption of controlled drugs, said an RCIP press release.
The men, aged 64, 46 and 40, were arrested Thursday afternoon after two officers spotted suspicious behaviour in Cinder Lane.
The drugs have a potential street value of just over $50,000, the release said.
Other arrests in West Bay included a 33-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assault.
In a separate incident a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and threatening violence and a 43-year-old man was arrested in suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The RCIPS asks that any resident with information relating to criminal behaviour contacts their local police station or Crime Stoppers. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward should their information lead to an arrest.
