Mr. Simon Robshaw and CAYTECH Electronics Ltd. have joined forces with the Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) as the exclusive sponsor of the Under 17 Boys National Team, the CIFA Under 19 Boys League, the CIFA Under 15 Girls League and as partial sponsor of the CIFA Women’s League.
CAYTECH is an electronic store located at Unit #8 in the Grand Harbour Shopping Centre, which specializes in Plasma televisions and Satellite Systems and supplies the latest electronic gadgets. Mr. Robshaw, partner in CAYTECH Electronics Ltd., retired and moved his family to Grand Cayman in April 2006. Mr. Robshaw is dedicated to youth, having assisted in the creation of a youth centre in his hometown in England which enabled young people to participate in various sporting activities.
Mr. Robshaw feels that football is a crucial part of the lives of the youth in the Cayman Islands and hopes that through his contribution Caymanian Football will be taken to a higher level. Mr. Robshaw stated that ‘football gives the players many skills that will be useful later in life such as discipline, time management, fair play, team work as well as keeping them fit and healthy. Football can play an integral part of a young person’s life providing encouragement to participate, feel needed and as a part of a team.’
Mr. Robshaw hopes that his contribution will encourage other persons in our society to also contribute in some way to our youth. Such contributions are key in assisting the next generation of young Caymanians to realize their full potential.
