The Chamber of Commerce will host a forum on the proposed amendments to the Immigration Law on Friday at 3pm at the Westin Casuarina Resort.
Chamber president Wil Pineau said among those scheduled to speak at the forum are Work Permit Board Chairman David Ritch, Business Staffing Board Chairman Sophia Harris, Caymanian Status and Permanent Residency Board Chairman Anthony Scott and Chief Immigration Officer Franz Manderson.
Leader of Government Business Kurt Tibbetts or his designate has also invited to speak.
Council of Associations Chairwoman Angelyn Hernandez will chair the meeting, Mr. Pineau said.
‘The purpose of the forum is to offer a better understanding of the Immigration Bill,’ he said. ‘It will also offer the business community a chance to provide input for possible changes to the bill.’
The Council of Associations is planning to meet Tuesday prior to the forum so that it can formulate a written response to the Immigration Bill, Mr. Pineau said.
