30 year-old center forward Michelle McField of Elite SC was unanimously voted CIFA Simon Robshaw Player of the Week for the week of October 29th to November 04th 2006, for her outstanding performance during the week.
Michelle started playing with Elite SC just this season, and has scored three goals, which makes her the top scorer in the CIFA Simon Robshaw Women’s League. His Coach, Mr. Gregory Ebanks noted that, ‘Michelle is a very disciplined player, she listens and has so much respect for me that I have never had any encounters with her. She is very cheerful, and enjoys having fun on and off the field of play, is technically good with the ball, and she has good dribbling skills which is one of her strongest points of her game.
‘At a very young age before there was women soccer,’ Ebanks continued. ‘I saw her playing with incredible skills with some children at the Annex, not knowing one day that I would have her playing for Elite Sports Club. We have a good relationship and understanding; sometimes she addresses me as her Dad. Any time she puts her mind to play well and is determine to win, it’s very hard to stop her. She has a good personality, speed and above all a nose for the goal. It’s an honor to have her on Elite Sports Club team, and hopefully if she maintains her high level of play, the national program will call on her services; I think she can contribute and be a valuable asset to the national program. I have enjoyed every moment of coaching her for the past 7 years. Having her under Elite organization enables me to set realistic goals’.
Michelle is a Caymanian who currently works as a Police Officer part-time and also works with ACE Security Laminates. Her hobbies are football, hanging out with her friends and keeping her car clean.
