Residents with special needs will be recognised this week, which is the Cayman Week of Persons with Disabilities, in addition to the international observances.
The local observance will include many events – from socials to a special awards service to commemorate the Sunrise Adult Training Centre’s two decades of committed service.
Families, friends and the public are encouraged to support the following events, which are being organised by the Centre’s PTA body, the Sunrise Caring Association.
Tuesday: 2pm to 8pm – Open House at the Sunrise Adult Training Centre house facility in West Bay (located on road behind Pappagallo Restaurant in Barkers).
Wednesday: 12noon to 3pm – (Rotary sponsored) dance at Matrix Club. Clients, staff, family and all supporters invited.
Thursday: 5pm to 9.30pm – Outing to Pizza Hut and movie (CUC-sponsored).
Friday: National Education Conference
Saturday: (two events) 11am to 2pm – Car Wash at Coconut Joe’s; 3pm to 6pm Treasure hunt dig at Calico Jack’s.
Sunday: Sunrise Awards Ceremony. Also, Cayman Islands will participate in the recognition of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities.
