25 year-old striker/midfielder Justin Pierre of George Town SC was voted CIFA Gatorade Player of the Week for the week of January 01st to 07th 2007 for his outstanding performance during the game against Academy SC on January 06th.
For Justin, a former player for the University of Louisville in Kentucky, USA, this is his first season with George Town S.C. Mr. Anthony Ramoon, General Secretary for George Town S.C., said that ‘Justin’s fitness has definitely improved this season and that has made a strong impression on the rest of the team. I am happy that he now has a chance to shine with this recognition’.
Justin is a Caymanian who is currently employed in the Retail Banking Department of Cayman National Bank. His hobbies are fishing and spending time with his family.
16 year-old goalkeeper Rohn Royer of Academy SC was also voted CIFA Gatorade Player of the Week for the week of January 01th to 07th 2007 for his outstanding performance during the week.
This is Rohn’s second season with Academy SC. His Coach, Mr. Bradley Erskine, said that ‘Rohn is very deserving of this credit and it makes me glad that the football community recognizes his skills. Even though his young age, he plays for Academy SC’s U19 and Senior Team. Young boys like him are the future of the Cayman Islands sports wise’.
Rohn is a Dominican who relocated with his family to the Cayman Islands five years ago. He is currently at Year 11 in Cayman Prep and High School. His hobbies are football, riding his BMX bike and playing ‘Halo’ on his Xbox 360 game station. He expressed his joy at being named CIFA Gatorade Player of the Week, ‘It feels good being recognized for something I enjoy so much doing’.
