The Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman has officially re-opened the Britannia Restaurant.
‘The Britannia Restaurant has been completely renovated and refurbished,’ said Mr. Diego Concha, General Manager at the Hyatt. ‘Our team has worked extremely hard to pull it all together and we’re very proud of how it looks.
‘After being closed for so long, we’re thrilled to be welcoming back old customers and greeting the new,’ he said. ‘We’ve had some excellent feedback already from both our resident clientele as well as those visiting the Island.’
Situated at the edge of the Britannia Golf Course next to the golf pro shop, the restaurant occupies two floors and is managed by Ms Marina Flynn, states a press release. The restaurant features an inside coffee bar area, a large outside deck overlooking the water and the 18th hole, and an upstairs lounge area.
‘We encourage our guests to relax in front of the view with a drink during the week or to gather at the lounge game-tables with friends on a weekend afternoon,’ Mr. Concha said. ‘The new restaurant has something for everyone.’
‘We have a wonderful new menu as well,’ he said. ‘From a wide and enticing breakfast menu, a mouthwatering lunch menu and daily snacks including many varieties of tea and coffee and a full variety of bar cocktails, beer and wines.’
Breakfast is served from 7am – 11am and offers a variety of omelets, quiches, eggs any style with bacon, sausage or baked beans. Also available is an assortment of cereals, fruits, pancakes, bagels, muffins and Danish. Breakfast can be picked up to take-away or enjoyed in the restaurant with a newspaper.
The Britannia Restaurant also caters to Cayman’s business community offering a free wireless internet service and a quiet setting in which to work or hold informal business meetings.
‘There are many quiet spots within the new restaurant that make it an ideal venue for a lunch meeting, and it’s a lovely place to entertain visiting business guests with the view over the golf course and out to North Sound,’ Mr. Concha said.
Lunch is available from 11am daily and includes salads, fajitas, panini sandwiches, baked potatoes, soups, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, steak and fish and chips to name a few.
The Britannia Restaurant is also pleased to welcome back its longest serving employee, Ms Judith General.
Ms Judith was on the opening team at Britannia Restaurant in 1985 and has been waiting to return to work since the restaurant closed two and a half years ago.
‘At long last I’m thrilled to be back working with the Britannia team,’ said Ms. Judith. ‘I love my job. The people I get to meet each day and the beautiful setting make it a great place to work.’
The Britannia Restaurant is open from 7am to 6pm and is open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and all day snacks. The restaurant also offers itself to private parties each evening from 5pm and all enquiries can be made to Ms. Caroline Deegan at 949.1234 extension 4702.
