Two men who ran from the Immigration Detention Centre in George Town early Thursday morning were recaptured later that same day.
Ramon Trenal Barrero, 41, was arrested by Royal Cayman Islands Police at a West Bay gas station Thursday afternoon.
Pedro Hechavarria Milan, 39, was rounded up by immigration officers late Thursday on Crewe Rd.
Immigration officials said they have increased security at the detention centre following two escapes in as many weeks.
Acting Chief Immigration Officer Kerry Nixon said it was likely that a man and woman involved in a 5 April escape from the centre had received aid from the outside to help avoid immediate capture.
Cayman Islands law provides a $50,000 fine and up to seven years in prison for anyone who assists an illegal migrant in remaining here, or in leaving the islands.
