Members of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service have seized 61 ganja plants in West Bay.
On Tuesday officers from the West Bay station and the K9 unit carried out a search in an area of vacant land on Bonaventure Road, off North West Point Road, and located the plants. Two motor scooters, which are thought to be stolen, were also recovered. One has since been reunited with its rightful owner. An 18-year-old man was taken into custody to assist police with their enquiries and has since been released.
Chief Inspector Angelique Howell, who is in charge of policing in West Bay appealed to the community to assist by talking to the police about activity in their neighbourhood.
