Sporting Central Academy to visit Cayman

It will be a action packed football games again when Sporting Central Academy another Clarendon team from the island of Jamaica match their skills with the Cayman Olympic Football team and the Cayman Select team on the 1st and 2nd of July at the T.E. McField ‘Annex’ playing field in George Town.

These games are being played to provide games for the Cayman Olympic Team, which begins qualification in September in Havana Cuba. The game will provide competition for these youngsters by matching their skills with other Caribbean footballers.

Sporting Central Academy are this season’s South Central Super League Champions. This position qualified them for participation in the playoff of Jamaica Football Association’s National Premier League competition. They participated and topped the point’s standings in the playoffs to take one of the two places vacant for the top Premier League in Jamaica.

This relatively young team of players will be a force to reckon with as they are rearing to go and presently preparing themselves to face the seasoned competitors from the various teams in the National Premier League.

Ace forward Oneke Forde and midfielders Hughan Gray and Carl Wiggan are the players to watch up front when this team grace the shores Grand Cayman. The defense line will be marshaled by Waldo Ricketts in goal assisted by Dushane Ashman and Linval Lewis.

Manager Brandon Murray said that he thanked CIFA President Jeffery Webb for this opportunity which will certainly help to sharpen the skills of his players for this up coming national competition. “This invitation will be a boost to the team considering the fact that they are at the preparation stage of this upcoming season of the National premier League.”

“I was overwhelmed when I got words of this invitation and I am going to ensure that my team capitalize on this chance in a positive way. The players are ready and looking forward for to these games,” Murray said.
