Murder victim identified

The 34-year-old Jamaican woman who police said was stabbed to death in West Bay Monday night has been identified as Maureen Grant.

Royal Cayman Islands Police investigators said Ms Grant was stabbed several times in the incident and was discovered by a neighbour inside a home on Erenette Lane at around 10pm.

She was pronounced dead at hospital later that night.

A 36-year-old man has been arrested in the case on suspicion of murder. At press time, he had not been charged.
