Miss teen pageant soon come

The Leo Club of Grand Cayman Miss Teen Cayman Islands Pageant takes place Saturday, 8 September at the Lions Centre.

On Saturday, 1 September, Leo club organisers will showcase the 10 ladies during a motorcade around the island.

Vying for the title are contestants Samantha Scott of Cayman Brac, Lethea Rankine, Sherie Jackson, Sheena Scott and Theresa Cole from George Town; Bethany Ebanks and Monyque Brooks West Bay, Kerri Anne Chisholm North Side, Yentel McGaw Bodden Town, Catherine Ebanks Bodden Town, Sheena Scott George Town and Theresa Cole George Town.

It is hoped by the committee that Cable and Wireless will have a contestant again this year for people to vote for their favourite teen for the Miss Photogenic Award by sending a text message with the contestant number that they would like to win.

Miss Teen2006/07 farewell

‘My reign as Miss Teen Cayman Islands 2006 has been an amazing adventure, which took me all the way to the land down under (Australia) for the Miss Teen World pageant. While there, I was fortunate to experience life in another culture and create bonds with people from all around the world. I have learned so much about my self through the opportunities I was given. I look at this year as a voyage that has taken me through so many different experiences, and taught me so many lessons in life that I could not have learnt just by living my life alone.

‘I firmly believe in my heart that the Miss Teen committee (Leo Club of Grand Cayman) searches for ways in which they can empower our youth, give them the basic foundations to make it in this world of competition, and best of all, show them that this world is theirs for the taking, if only they have the courage to go for it!

‘I extend an invitation to all young ladies and future young hopefuls who want to challenge themselves and make a difference in their community. You all have the ability to be amazing role models; the Miss Teen pageant just helps you perfect the qualities you already possess.

‘I look forward to seeing you all at this year’s pageant,’ said Prescilian Bromfield, Miss Teen Cayman Islands 2006/07.
