Cayman in brief

Mentors sought

Adult volunteers are again being encouraged to volunteer as little as two hours each month in an initiative which has proven beneficial to local teenagers. This is the fourth year of John Gray High School’s Mentoring for Success programme, which has already helped 120 students.

Each adult performance mentor will support a John Gray High School student for six months in early 2008. During this time, they will have the opportunity to acquire basic mentor training while also gaining the satisfaction of enabling young persons’ potential.

The time commitment of adult participants is not burdensome. They will attend an initial one-day training programme at John Gray High School on Saturday, 8 December. On another date a lunch and student/mentor pairing will be held.
