Clamp down coming on drink driving

Drink driving wrecks lives, it can result in you being arrested, losing your licence and ultimately being responsible for taking someone’s life.

This year marks the eighth year the campaign has been coordinated by the National Drug Council.

The campaign makes it easier for people to either flag down or call a white top taxi to take them home safely and it supports the designated driver programme.

Over 2,000 campaign posters are printed and over 5,000 business cards highlighting the telephone numbers of over 100 taxi drivers are placed in restaurants, bars, and nightclubs island-wide making it easy to call a taxi wherever you are. Police officers will be out in force throughout the festive period, targeting anyone who gets behind the wheel after having a drink.
