CFP at Business After Hours

Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce members and guests will get a chance Thursday to visit an area mostly frequented by cruise ship visitors when the Shops at Royal Watler host a much-anticipated Business After Hours event from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.

Ten businesses including Cayman Free Press will come together to host a night of discounts and prizes.

‘CFP shares a kiosk at the terminal with the Post Office called Paper & Post, where we distribute various tourist publications, as well as sell postcards and stamps so people can send off Cayman greetings before boarding for their next destination,’ says CFP business Manager Teritia Peart.

With an inventory that’s growing weekly, Paper & Post carries a range of CFP products, art, stamps, and souvenirs, and also provides local bFree mobile phone rentals.

‘We are really glad we are able to support the tourism industry in this way, as well as to assist in distributing products to cruise ship visitors for the benefit of our clients,’ she said.

The event’s main organiser, Robert Hamaty of Tortuga Rum Company said the terminal’s businesses felt they needed to host a Business After Hours to officially introduce themselves to the community.

‘The Royal Watler Terminal is a great location in the heart of George Town but it is mostly frequented by our visitors, so a lot of residents don’t know we are here,’ he said.

‘The Port Authority is also assisting us to make this event a great Business After Hours. The terminal is a good place to hold a party as many people already know. We are excited to have Chamber members and their guests join us for a busy evening full of business with exclusive discounts and some incredible prizes.’

Tortuga is offering a 10 per cent discount to Chamber members for the evening and is donating cases of red and white wine for the prize drawing.

Havana Humidor will offer Chamber members a one-night only 10 per cent discount and one lucky winner will receive a box of Cuban Cigars.

Caymania Duty Free will be offering specials on select jewellery, and Too Hot Ltd will also have a gift certificate in the draw.

Jingle Shells, Kali’s Korner, Guy Harvey, Caymanian Traditions and Harbour Breezes will also be participating in the event.

‘The Royal Watler Terminal is a unique structure in itself set away from the busy street with first-rate facilities for events, and in this instance the surrounding stores are open especially for members and guests to browse,’ said Chamber CEO Wil Pineau.

‘It promises to be an entertaining evening.’
