This weekend will see women basketball’s brightest showcase their talents.
The inaugural All-Star night will take place Sunday 2 March at the Digicel Court. The festivities will start at 6pm with a 3-point shoot-out, followed by the All-Star game.
The evening will feature the top twenty players in the women’s basketball league. At press time, the names of the all-stars were not released.
The event is expected to tie in with honouring women’s month. As a result, the All-Star Night is scheduled to be sponsored in part by the Women’s Resource Center.
Prizes will be given out on the night and the public is urged to attend.
The league is currently in its second round and winding down its regular season. The playoffs are expected to start roughly 5 March.
The postseason will showcase the top four teams going head-to-head in a single-elimination tournament.
Normal playing times for games are Wednesdays at 6pm and 7:30pm and Sundays at 5:45pm and 7:15pm.
