No middle road

Once again the Roads Minister is considering changing the speed limits – either 40 or 25 mph.

I have always wondered why the speed limit was still 40 mph on West Bay Road, which of course is much too fast in the main hotel zone. I just do not understand why the only two choices seem to be 40 mph or 25 mph. Why not 30 mph or 35 mph? These seem to be more sensible speed limits, except for downtown, schools and areas where children are playing.

Even on the new Westerly Tibbetts Hwy. the 40 mph speed is excessive with the roundabouts. Once again 30 mph or 35 mph seems much more sensible speed.
