Brac Karaoke contest

Saturday, 5 April at the Aston Rutty Centre

An American Idol-style karaoke contest is being held on the Brac.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 5 April at 6.30pm, at the Aston Rutty Centre.

The winner will receive a cash prize of US$1,000. Second prize is US$500, third is US$250.

There will be ample food for sale at the event and the Cayman Brac High School Steel pan band will provide additional entertainment.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Red Cross, specifically towards the purchase of an Automated External Defibrillator for the Brac and Little Cayman and Sister Island supplies for CPR, First Aid and AED training.

An AED is a portable electronic life-saving device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation, allowing the heart to re-establish an effective rhythm.

Registration forms can be picked up from the Brac Reef Beach Resort, Brac Power & Light or the Captain’s Table. Registration forms must be returned to Kathy Kirkconnell with the $25 entry fee today.

Admission to the event is $5. There will be a variety of food items for sale and door prizes.
