Streetskills is celebrating its second birthday with a drive-a-thon this Saturday.
The event begins at Camana Bay and ends at Public Beach. The slow procession will travel with police escort north up West Bay Road and will culminate with a memorial service and celebration on the beach.
The event is designed to remember those who have lost their lives on Cayman’s roads while at the same time highlighting the efforts of those who aim to improve road safety.
Residents are being asked to take part by registering for the drive-a-thon in advance. Those who participate will receive a T-shirt and goodie bag and are eligible to win prizes.
Residents can register for the event at Fort Street Market today between 11am and 3pm or by contacting Deborah Denis 244-3004 or emailing [email protected].
The registration fee is $10. Funds will be used for future road safety efforts such as educational and promotional material.
Streetskills is a programme of the National Roads Authority, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service and The Cayman Islands Road Safety Advisory Council.
Its aim is to educate motorists and influence their behaviour on the roads.
