A man was found dead in a seaside home in Bodden Town early Tuesday, the victim of an apparent homicide.
Royal Cayman Islands Police investigators said the 47-year-old victim’s body was located in the upstairs part of the two story home along Sea Spray Drive just off Beach Bay Road.
He was identified by family members as Martin Gareau. He was originally from Canada and worked in construction here for a division of the CayCoast company.
Residents in the area said Mr. Gareau was renting the home. The property owners could not be reached for comment at press time.
Police said the victim had last been spoken to on Sunday and was found Tuesday morning by his colleagues who went looking for him after he failed to show up for work.
Scenes of Crime Department technicians and detectives were examining the home Tuesday morning for clues. Police said the man’s body showed signs of obvious injury but could not immediately state what had killed him.
No arrests were reported in the case as of press time.
