The Chamber of Commerce Partners in Education, which comprise the Selection Committee of the Golden Apple Awards, have been hard at work over the past several weeks reading through more than 1,000 teacher and principal nominations.
This year students, parents and teacher colleagues were given the opportunity to recognize the extraordinary educators who have enriched their lives. The findings and recommendations of the Selection Committee will be assessed with other factors crediting the work of the nominated educators and the scores will be audited by Accounting Firm, KPMG.
Partner at KPMG Sheenah Hislop-DaCosta said, ‘KPMG is proud to support the Golden Apple Awards for a second year. The Golden Apple Awards offer recognition to some of Cayman’s hardest working teachers who provide education and guidance to our youth.’
There are seven categories, and each will consist of three honourees acknowledged for their dedication and achievements made in education. The honourees’ triumphs will be recognized formally in the commemorative magazine for the Golden Apple Awards for Excellence in Teaching.
The black tie gala event takes place on Friday, 20 June at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman.
One educator in each category will be presented with the esteemed Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Awards Ceremony that evening.
