When I saw the video of the people dancing lewdly I was definitely appalled!
Like Bodden Town MLA Osbourne Bodden was quoted in the article, ‘having fun is one thing’ but that was disgusting to look at.
It was indecent and I could barely allow myself to finish this video. I think it would be safe to say that on behalf of the young people today, there is a time and place for everything and what was on that video not only disgraced Cayman’s culture [which that is not of], it is a disgrace to the younger generations of Cayman.
I am 19 years old and although ‘fun’ in Cayman has evolved from our parents’ skip roping, jacks and playing go seek, we [as a community] are not going anywhere [but the to the dogs] if our future generation has no self respect nor decency.
I am only wondering now, as I was when I watched this video, if these girls have seen it and seen the exposure it has gotten and I have only one simple question for them – do you not feel embarrassed and ashamed? I feel it for them if they do not and without even knowing their responses I know they should!
Any person of any wholesomeness, integrity or propriety will feel the same. If anything, I pity them [and their families even more] because of their actions and little self respect. The smiles on these girls’ faces only made me even more disgusted as I watched this.
