Arrest in drive-by shooting

Police have made a quick arrest in connection with the shooting of a local man outside a George Town home last weekend. A 20-year-old man from George Town is now in custody on suspicion of attempted murder. He has not been formally charged with any crime.

Last Saturday, 31 May a 29-year-old man was wounded after shots were apparently fired from a car on School Road near Eastern Avenue.

Bullets struck the victim in his hand and arm. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released over the weekend.

Armed police were sent to the scene of the shooting shortly after it was reported but the car was not immediately located.
