Health Ministry gets new CFO

Mr. Carrol Cooper has been appointed chief financial officer of the Ministry of Health and Human Services. He has more than 10 years experience in finance, holds a Masters in Business Administration Degree and is a Chartered Certified Accountant.

‘I am happy to have been given this opportunity,’ he said. ‘I feel my past experience as director of finance and chief accountant at the North-East Regional Health Authority in Jamaica will give me a broader perspective on the management of the Ministry’s finances. The analytical skills that I have acquired over the years will also help to support my new position.’

Mr. Cooper’s responsibilities will include ensuring all accounting and financial systems of the Ministry are properly structured and managed in an efficient and timely manner.

‘We are excited in having Mr. Cooper join our senior management team. I am confident with his expertise he will positively contribute towards meeting the Ministry’s financial responsibilities,’ said Chief Officer Mrs. Diane Montoya.
