Maple Syrup not sweet to Rabobies

Another week of high paced Touch Rugby Action came to a close on Friday August 15th.

With only 3 weeks to go before the playoff schedule starts, the Androgroup Summer Mixed 7’s series has once more provided its hundreds of competitors with some fun and competitive games!

In the premier division the HSBC Rabobies suffered yet another hiccup, this time drawing to the Maples and Calder ‘Maple Syrup’ team 5-5. With that result Flour, the current Ogier Winter Touch Series champions are only lagging behind HSBC by 1 point. In stark contrast, Premier league strugglers Ogier are still looking for their first win of the season. Ogier will be looking to their Talisman James Waters to score some more much needed tries late in the season to get that all important first win!

In the 2nd division the CML Spartans maintained their current winning streak with a strong performance against UBS 1 whilst Appleby bounced back from a 2 game losing run to defeat the club favourite Hypoxi Maidens! KPMG 2 found some reprieve with a bye week. The KPMG side, who are still looking for their first win of the season would have welcomed the week off to train and work on their game play to come back guns blazing in week 8!

In the 3rd division, Citco remain unbeatable even without their try machine Sam Eaton! Citco hammered the UBS2 team 8-1. Elsewhere in the bottom division there were other 1 sided battles between Grizz’s Old Fellas who managed to put down the Heinekens long enough to record a 8-1 drubbing of the Rawlinson Hunter team! Goldman Sachs climbed another rung of the ladder with a respectable 5-3 win over the Titan’s ticklers
