According to a Water Authority press release, the newsletter will be mailed quarterly and will give the authority an important tool to communicate with customers.

‘The launch of our customer newsletter is another exciting initiative that has materialised from our twenty-fifth anniversary celebration,’ said Mrs.. Gelia Frederick-van Genderen, Water Authority director. ‘We trust that it will be of value to our customers and that by reading it, they will gain a better understanding of our goals and future plans for the Cayman Islands.’

The customer newsletter will feature stories and updates on the Water Authority’s ongoing infrastructure expansion and upgrade projects. The first issue focuses on the pipeline expansion to North Side, which completes the island-wide pipeline loop. Also in the first issue are tips on how to use water wisely during the hot summer months along with important hurricane tips.

The Authority said an interesting feature of the newsletter is the ‘Knowledge Zone’, which provides readers, young and old, with an in-depth look at a water-related topic. The first issue looks at where Cayman’s fresh water comes from. Future issues will cover topics such as conservation, environmental impacts and technological advancements. The newsletter will also feature staff stories and community involvement, along with a message from the director.

Water Authority customers will receive a newsletter in the mail, however additional copies will be made available at the Water Authority headquarters on Red Gate Road in George Town and at the Cayman Brac office.

The authority said the newsletter complements the Authority’s extensive website, which is another way it stays in touch with its customers.
