The second of the Fidelity Fun Run Series was another success on Saturday.
There were almost exactly the same numbers as the first week, with well over 100 participants.
However, as several first week competitors were absent, with the appearance on the scene of speedy entrants who were no-shows the first week, standings underwent a substantial shake up.
Many competitors lowered their times considerably from their week one performances.
Scott Brittain again led all finishers, clocking 10 minutes 15 seconds, with Russell Coleman’s 10:49 quick enough for runner up honours again.
Mike McDonald moved up to third spot overall off an 11:11 effort.
Beth Schreader finished eighth overall and first woman home at 12:14 and newcomer Julie Ann Pearson served notice as a force in the future, stopping the clock at 12:33 in tenth place and runner up lady.
First week lady leader Kadeen Foster was third in that category, despite dropping her time to 12:46.
Age group winners on this occasion were Brittain, Schreader, Foster, Pearson, and McDonald, who were joined by Brandon Williams, Hilary Cockhill, Tristan von Kirchenheim, Victoria Crawshaw, Aaron McLaughlin, David Shibli, Maria Leonce, Fernando Contreras, Caroline Courtis, Roger Davies and Mavis Davies.
Brendan Touhey again topped the list in the vehicular category.
Interesting battles are shaping up and depending on who toes the starting line at the final instalment on Saturday, a number of awards are up for grabs when trophies and event shirts will be distributed.
Additional awards will be contributed by Fidelity at the final outing.
The two-mile run is from 7.30am on Saturday 27 September from the John Gray High School on Walkers Road.
