A local football club recently brought the sport to school-goers in Savannah.
The Bodden Town Football Club put on a football camp at Savannah Primary School on 4 October.
The camp is one of many being put on by local football clubs to keep kids interested in the sport during their school days.
The camp saw some 20 youngsters come out Saturday morning to participate in a variety of drills.
BTFC Technical Director Elbert McLean instructed the kids along with some four members of the BTFC squad including Kareem James, Andrew Jackson and Head Coach Al Frederick.
Each participant at the camp received a T-shirt, school supplies, refreshments and lunch.
Club President Mark Scotland, who helped organize the camp, says the club has plans of putting on similar camps in the months ahead.
Scotland went on to express his gratitude to all the sponsors of the camp.
‘We are very appreciative of the sponsors – without their support the camps would not have been possible.
‘The people who made this possible were Advanced Road Construction and Paving, Department of Sports, Watlers Metal Products, Lookout Gardens, Elrich Roofing, Dolphin Cabinets and Chesters Heavy Equipment.’
