Following a one weekend break, Cayman cricketers took to field on Sunday as preparations continued at the Smith road Oval for the ICC Americas championships.
In a rain induced 30 overs match Best XI won by 45 runs.
Captain Pearson Best lead the way with 34 runs with smaller contributions coming from Ricardo Roach, Alister Ifill and Germain Sooknanan. Bowling for Mohamed’s XI Kevon Bazil took 2 wickets.
With the surface drying out runs became even harder to get and Mohamed XI could only score 122 runs. It was the turn of twin brother Kevin Bazil 3 wickets and Marlon Bryan and Alister Ifill with 2 wickets each to restrict the Mohamed XI.

CICA MEMORIAL DAY
National practice matches are placed on hold as the rest of the cricketing fraternity in remembrance of cricketers Daniel Morris and Andre Blackwood at the Smith Road Oval.
Activities begin at 11.00am. CICA President Courtney Myles is encouraging the Cayman Islands public to attend, spend some time and enjoy the day.
Daniel Morris entered the youth programme in 1996 and represented the Cayman Islands at Under 15, Under 19 and senior level. An exciting, hard hitting batsman who played for various clubs namely By Rite and Police in Division 1 and C&W Schools and West Bay in Division 2!
Andre Blackwood represented Greenies 1 Cricket Club where he batted extremely well in Division 1 of the local competitions.
