Chamber, Island Companies kick off Christmas

Known as the official kick-off party to Christmas by Chamber members, this year’s Island Companies Ltd. Business After Hours is scheduled to take place on Thursday, 4 December at 5.30pm on Cardinal Avenue.

Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, Island Companies Ltd. will offer special discounts to Chamber members and guests and will give away some great prizes including jewelry, watches, sunglasses and Swarovski crystal prizes.

Founded in 1978 by Cayman’s sporting legend Renard Moxam, Island Companies Ltd. has gone from one small sports store to being the largest duty free retailer in Cayman, specialising in jewelry, watches, cigars, sunglasses, liquor, souvenirs and much more.

Managed in partnership by Renard Moxam and well-known businessman John Rea, Island Companies Ltd. employs over 150 staff.

Island Companies Ltd. has been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce since 1989, supporting several Chamber initiatives over the years, including most recently the Chamber’s Environmental Pledge. Guests will receive an environmentally friendly reusable shopping bag in keeping with their commitment to the pledge.

The Chamber of Commerce and Island Companies Ltd. encourage all guests to register online for this event on the Chamber website www.caymanchamber.ky By registering online, guests will be automatically entered into the prize drawing and do not have to wait to register at the entrance. Similarly, invitations received by mail to Chamber members and guests include an Express Registration Form. Guests who receive this form prior to the event, who do not wish to pre-register online, should bring this form already filled out so that they may enter the Express Registration Line and drop their form into the box. Guests who have not pre-registered online or completed an Express Registration Form will be asked to register at the entrance.

Business After Hours is one of the Chamber’s most popular networking and social events for its membership with between 100 and 300 members and guests attending. Business professionals are encouraged to attend these events to visit and support local businesses as well as to interact with clients, colleagues and potential customers in an informal setting.
